You seem to be a bit misinformed. While that may have been true at one point*, as per their FAQ they support 21 currencies and even more countries https://www.epicgames.com/site/en-US/epic-games-store-faq. It isn't always the most favorable conversion rates but... by those standards we would probably be gutting a lot of Steam and console games too.
And I think they had the same problem as everyone else a while back where load balancing put people in alternate language stores?
*: Was it... ever? Fortnite predated EGS as we know it and I can't imagine Epic left money on the table with that
