Overview
John Paul Jones was born in Sidcup, Kent on January 3, 1946. Both of his parents were involved in the music industry during Jones' youth, forcing him to go to boarding school, where he studied music. Jones joined his first band at age fifteen, called The Deltas. Then in 1962 he was hired to play for The Shadows. In 1966, what would be the guitarist for Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page joined The Yardbirds. A year after, Jones contributed to one of their albums. The Yardbirds soon disbanded, leaving Jones and Page to collaborate, forming Led Zeppelin. John Paul Jones was the person who found John Bonham (Led Zeppelin Drummer) dead.
Jones is now involved with Them Crooked Vultures, along with
Dave Grohl and
Josh Homme. Their first album was released on November 17, 2009 and they have plans to record a second one in summer of 2010. They are currently on tour.
